Doug Mersman completed his Ph.D. in Biochemistry at Purdue University, studying the Set1 histone methyltransferase complex and the Jhd2 demethylase and how their interplay influence gene expression. He has published in journals ranging from 'PNAS' to 'Genes and Development.'

Shortly after finishing graduate school he joined Life Technologies as a qPCR account manager covering the state of Indiana. He spent several years on the consumables (Invitrogen) side of the business after Life Technologies' acquisition by Thermo Fisher Scientific before moving back to the newly formed Genetic Sciences Division, covering qPCR, Sanger sequencing, Ion Torrent next generation sequencing, and microarray instruments and reagents. He has served customers ranging from pharma to AgBio to academic research and enjoys being able to help scientists advance their research and publish in a fast, efficient manner.
